At the May 16 BATW meeting at Autodesk Gallery in San Francisco, Sacramento-based photographer William Foster, who was the official photographer for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for two years and who photographed President Barack Obama’s inauguration, will show us developments on the web that we can use to attract new publications and establish our names as writers and photographers. He’ll cover basics about having a website at the very least, but he’ll also delve into maintaining and using a blog as more than just a journal. He’ll talk about social networking avenues such as Facebook and Linked-in. Lastly, he will talk about email campaigns and how to effectively plan and execute one. This will be a great program for savvy Internet users and for those of us struggling to understand the Internet beyond email.
Bill markets almost exclusively on the web. He’s has been in photography since 1996, but during that time spent four years at Intel Corporation as a web developer and corporate trainer. Most recently, after spending two years as Official Photographer to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Foster is back out in the freelance photography world, marketing to public relations, corporate and commercial clients from Sacramento to Washington, D.C. A sampling of Foster’s work can be seen at www.wfosterphoto.com.
The fantastic Autodesk Gallery at One Market in San Francisco is hosting our meeting. Opened just six months ago, Autodesk Gallery was build to celebrate the design process that take a great idea and turns it into a reality. More than 20 different amazing exhibits highlight a range of inspiring designs from cathedrals to giant LEGO dinosaurs and everything in between.
