			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>BATW</strong> has formed a partnership, this year, with the <strong>Bay Area Travel &amp; Adventure Show</strong>, which runs Feb. 18 and 19 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The Travel &amp; Adventure Show is the nation’s largest active and adventure travel show, showcasing worldwide destinations and vacation packages. BATW’s <strong>Lee Foster</strong> and <strong>Jules Older</strong> will be presenting a panel discussion on apps at the show, and BATW members are being offered a free pass to the two-day event.</p>

<p>The race is on for Canada’s <strong>Northern Lights Awards</strong> presented by the <strong>Canadian Tourism Commission</strong> and sponsored by <strong>Travel Alberta</strong>. Through compelling headlines, stunning imagery and riveting descriptions, thousands of writers, photographers, producers and other media tell Canada&#8217;s story around the world. This is our chance to recognize your work as being one of the most influential and important motivators for all travellers.</p>
<p>Travel and lifestyle media including print, online, photography and broadcast can vie for top journalism awards judged by the Missouri School of Journalism.</p>
<p><strong>New!</strong> Two Broadcast/video<strong> </strong>awards will be judged by a panel of professional multi-media experts.</p>

<p>Eligible for entry is work produced in English or French by American and Canadian journalists between Jan. 1, 2011 and Dec. 31, 2011. All entries must be on Canada and deal with the subject of travel/lifestyle or the business of tourism. Advertorials are not eligible. Up to three (3) entries per publication/author/photographer/broadcaster/online video producer will be considered; more than three will disqualify all entries. Multiple bylines are acceptable. Just one prize is given per award category.</p>
<p><strong>Rules:</strong></p>

<li>Entries for the competition must be filed either electronically or by mail no later than February 7, 2012. Mail-in submissions must be post-dated no later than Feb. 7, 2012.</li>
<li>Print, photography and online entry attachments must have clear, readable dates of publication. Blogs must have been live during 2011 to qualify for award entry.</li>
<li>Broadcast television and online video must provide script and link to video required for judging.</li>
