January’s BATW meeting took us out on San Francisco Bay with Hornblower Cruises, aboard their new hybrid ferry boat, and then to Alcatraz Island, home of the infamous prison. Many members explored “the Rock” before returning home. Two memories stand out to Carole Terwilliger Meyers, who captured this moment of BATW member Jim Gebbie chatting with former inmate William Baker. And then there’s the cell blocks’ dancing doors (or, why they call it “the slammer”) — see her video here.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
